VERB : BURN

We could not burn the rubbish because it was raining.  (transitive)
It burned my fingers.    (transitive)

Look! The forest is burning.   ( intransitive)
The stubble was burning in the fields.   (intransitive)


VERB : STOP

Do not let this stop you!   (transitive)
We all stopped talking.   (transitive)

Let's stop here.  (intransitive)
The train stopped at a small station.   (intransitive)


VERB : SLEEP

My mother is sleeping my little sister now.   (transitive)
Sleep your baby and come!  (transitive)

I did not get to sleep until six in the morning.  (intransitive)
She slept till ten in the morning.  (intransitive)

    Thank you for sharing these illustrative sample sentences with us. They are really informative. However, I have one objection for the transitive use of "sleep". It is not possible to use this verb in a transitive way. You can use the verb "put the baby to sleep" instead.
    Keep up the good work.
